Retreat Groups
Located 12 miles south of Johnson City and 10 miles from the towns of Jonesborough and Erwin, Buffalo Mountain offers several options for many different types of groups. We are available to serve groups who desire a quiet place to rest, as well as other groups seeking a weekend of adventure and fun. All lodging options provide a natural setting conducive to study, prayer and contemplation; as well as easy access to mountain scenery, fishing in our pond, moderate hiking trails up the mountain, and lots of nature to explore. Full-service meals and snacks, served family style are available at additional cost. Sometimes other options can also be arranged. Ask us about canoeing on our lake, swimming in the pool (summer only), climbing our 15-ft wall (4th grade and up), and other programming options.

Our Retreat Center is our motel-like facility offering double-occupancy rooms, kitchen and dining facilities, conference room, worship center, and a large all-purpose room. All these facilities are contained in one building with all linens and soap provided. This is a favorite option for retreats, conferences, and family reunions.
Allison Lodge and cabins offer a more rustic experience. The lodge has an industrial-sized kitchen, large (warm-weather) dining facility, and a meeting/gathering room complete with fireplace. There are six bunk-style cabins nearby, each housing about 20 people. These cabins share a central bath house facility. Allison Lodge is a great choice for youth groups, boy scout troops, and many more.
Although we are not primarily a campground, occasionally we do allow tent camping or camping in our outpost sites (Tree Houses, Hammock Huts, Eagles Nest rustic cabins) - all located on top of our mountain. Please call our office to discuss these possibilities.

The building is a 30-bed facility with private and semi-private baths. There are 15 bedrooms, four of which can sleep up to 3 people as they house a double and a single bed. The remaining 11 rooms each have 2 single beds. Excellent meeting spaces are available including a large kitchen/dining room area, great room, conference room and worship center/meeting room. You are also welcome to take advantage of the lovely wrap-around porch complete with benches, rocking chairs, porch swing, and beautiful mountain views overlooking the camp lake. New this year are covered swings overlooking the lake, perfect for breaks between meetings, or curling up with a good book.
You may provide your own food, or you may arrange for our staff to prepare your meals. Please view our menu options and then contact the camp to make arrangements. We hope that you enjoy your stay at Buffalo Mountain!
Allison Lodge is also available for retreats. This is a more rustic facility with large kitchen and meeting room complete with fireplace. There is also a screened-in dining hall available for use during warmer weather. Lodging is in cabins - most containing 10 bunks (or 20 beds) each. Cabins are convenient to guys' and girls' bath-houses.
Those staying at Allison Lodge also have access to moderate hiking trails, field for games, mountain views, and lots of nature to explore. Ask us about swimming in the pool, canoeing on the lake, climbing wall, or other programming; sometimes these options can be arranged.
